“Special Alert! Special Alert!”Posted on May 28th, 2010 @ 1:48 pm
One of my son’s new favorite tv show is Special Agent Oso. I’m not sure if you’ve seen one of its episode but you can find some videos on YouTube and you’ll probably know what I’m talking about.
Anyway, Liam just adores him. He never fails to watch all recorded episodes on our DVR every single day, sometimes even twice or thrice a day. He sings to his songs even if he can barely mumble the right words. He calls him “OTO! OTO!” (which I’m sure you figured as a distorted way of saying OSO) everytime he sees this “stuffed bear” and jumps up and down as soon as the show starts. So when you have a kid who pretty much owns the tv, you’re kinda obligated to watch the same kind of shows.
The other day as Liam was watching an episode where Oso was given some instructions on how to do a particular task, I decided to watch it and really listen to the story. This other agent told him that he needs to find the door with a handle that looks like a steering wheel and turn it to the right. Easy as pie right? Nooooo, because as soon as he goes his way to find that damn door, he forgets and asked his audience which way to turn! Sheesh! I was so irritated that I decided to ignore it and took a nap. My IQ could have dropped 10 points if I finished it. As soon as my husband came home from work I told him, “Etong si Oso, lasa ko’y hu-le, gawa ng kasasabi pa laang na pa-kanan nga ang pagikot e itatanong pa sa audience nia kung pasaan daw dapat ang pagikot e! Kakaiyamot!” And then he started laughing. After a while I realized, oh my goodness, patulan ba pati ganitong show?!

I know, I know! These are just some of the ways how children shows connect and interact with their audience, who are primarily growing toddlers. But dang! I don’t think I’m up for that on some days. Nakakawala ng bait! But I must admit, I do admire that a lot of these kind of programs are really going the educational route. Some of them even teaches good values and proper manners.
As for me, I think I was just being a smart-ass that day so ignore me. Stress do that to you sometimes. Hahaha! In fact, I was actually debating if I’m having a Special Agent Oso or Spongebob theme for Liam’s birthday on the 9th of June. So we’ll see.

The Weekend That WasPosted on February 17th, 2010 @ 2:50 pm
The long weekend’s over.
Going back to work is definitely a drag!
Anyway, we were able to do what was originally planned. Mejo late na lang kaming dumating dun and the lunch that was supposed to be ended up being a verrry late lunch slash early dinner.
As in around 4pm na ata kami nakakain. Seven Glaciers was ok. Siguro nawala na ung appetite ko kaya di ko na masyadong na-enjoy ung food (I ordered a King Crab mac and cheese) and all I can think of was make sure my tummy is filled.
Butttttt…. My dessert, the Baked Alyeska was divine!
Sobrang sarap nia talaga. It was a good way to end up a meal. Loved the ice cream inside.![]()
We were able to watch Valentine’s Day too!
Thank goodness it was just us girls though. Kase siguradong puro pula ang aabutin nung movie if our hubbys were with us. Like I said, it was a total chick-flick with extra mush and cheese on the side.
And like before, some of the scenes were predictable but I guess that’s just me.
Ang bilis kong mahuli ung plot nung movie. One thing I didn’t catch though, big shocker on Bradley Cooper’s character. Wow! But hey, it’s all good. He’s still hot! ![]()
Monday was uneventful except for the brunch we had with the same group of friends we were with at Alyeska. Sobrang katakawan na naman un.
Geez! All we ever do when we gather is either eat or spend money on eating. Aba, I already have a fat ass and now I’m broke too. We should think of something else to do na ha… Hahaha! But kidding aside, weekends
are the only time we get to have some fun here in Anchorage. It’s nice to have some friends you can hang out with. Maloloka ka, literally, if you’re by yourself. Lalo na pag winter. ![]()
O sya, till my next post. I seriously need to revamp this blog to spice it up. Maybe add more links? Hmmm..
